In order to qualify for VAT exemption, the eligible person must be 'chronically sick or disabled. The items must not be purchased for the general use of other able bodied persons. Chronically sick means that you have an illness that is likely to last a long time e.g. arthritis, diabetes and angina. Disabled means substantially and permanently handicapped by illness or injury.
You do not have to be registered disabled to claim relief from VAT, but the nature of your illness or disablement must be specified in your declaration.
A frail elderly person who is otherwise able-bodied or any person who is only temporarily disabled or incapacitated, such as with a broken limb does not qualify for VAT relief.

This unique women's open-back nightie has long sleeves and a substantial overlap to maintain dignity while also providing easy dressing. The deep armholes and lack of fastenings make it simple to slide up the arms and over the head.
Made from poly-cotton interlock, it comes in a range of attractive prints and offers both softness and comfort. This open-back nightie offers a cosier and less transparent garment than traditional poly-cotton nighties.
For easy dressing, we recommend the following steps:
Step 1, open the back;
Step 2, slide the clothing up the arms;
Step 3, slip it over the head.
This design doesn't feature Velcro, snaps, or buttons, ensuring a hassle-free experience. We prioritise comfort and only use soft seams to eliminate any scratching or itching on delicate skin.
This nightie can be easily parted for incontinence care, making it ideal for people with restricted mobility, those who are bedridden, disabled, or receiving palliative care. The generous shoulder-to-shoulder overlap and absence of fastenings are especially helpful for those with physical challenges. Additionally, it is a practical option for people with dementia who may experience inappropriate disrobing or incontinence issues.
Care instructions:
Wash at 60 degrees – ideal for home or care home wear (please note the label on the nightie incorrectly says washing up to 30 degrees - they can be machine washed up to 60 degrees).
No need to iron. Can be tumble dried.

Please note the sizes of Petal Back are on the generous side. The design allows for ease in dressing and therefore you do not usually need to order a larger size than usually worn.
