In order to qualify for VAT exemption, the eligible person must be 'chronically sick or disabled. The items must not be purchased for the general use of other able bodied persons. Chronically sick means that you have an illness that is likely to last a long time e.g. arthritis, diabetes and angina. Disabled means substantially and permanently handicapped by illness or injury.
You do not have to be registered disabled to claim relief from VAT, but the nature of your illness or disablement must be specified in your declaration.
A frail elderly person who is otherwise able-bodied or any person who is only temporarily disabled or incapacitated, such as with a broken limb does not qualify for VAT relief.

Over the years we have been asked many times for a smart but casual men's trousers with an elasticated waist that gentlemen can wear instead of tracksuit bottoms. Easy men's pull-on corduroy trousers.
Extremely comfortable and great for people who want to wear normal trousers but don’t want zips or fastenings and need trousers which are easy to put on.
Especially useful for men who struggle pulling their trousers up and down when visiting the toilet and for men with Parkinson's or dementia who struggle with fastenings. Also excellent for wheelchair users
Made from 100% cotton these attractive navy, brown, olive or black corduroy trousers have a draw-string waistband to ensure a comfortable fit.
They have 2 practical side pockets and have been designed with a raised back for added comfort when seated for long periods.
The finished length is 31.5'' /80cm (there will be slight shrinkage after the first wash of 1/2'' /1cm).

Machine washable at 40 degrees - can iron. Do not tumble dry.
